Nick Beim is a Partner at Venrock, the venture capital firm, where he focuses on artificial intelligence, software and fintech. Nick’s investments include Dataminr, a AI-driven platform that infers real-time events from public data sources; http://Percipient.ai, a computer vision analytics platform; http://Care.com, the largest global online marketplace for care services, and JBoss (acquired by Red Hat), the most widely used open source application server. Nick’s primary passion outside of venture investing is accelerating international development through entrepreneurship. Nick serves on the board of Endeavor, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting entrepreneurs in developing countries that has helped create over 700,000 high-wage jobs and helped create Endeavor Catalyst, Endeavor’s investment fund. Prior to joining Venrock, Nick worked at Matrix Partners, Goldman Sachs, McKinsey and the U.S. Agency for International Development. Nick also served as the lead researcher on the book Charlie Wilson’s War. Nick serves on the Advisory Board for the Center on Global Energy Policy and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
